the Pectoralis Major. After the
surgical neck, the Peck Major
inserts to the humerus, when
large muscle belly tear occur,
fluid build up usually begins
here and traces distally.

at its distal insertion. Care must
be taken not to let anisotropic
artifact give false positive tears.
Image on left shows a distal tear
at the anterior insertion with
cortical irregularity.  The cortical
irregularity is the first indicator to
look for tears.  Take care not to
compress useful tissues with the
probe.

Right: 17yr old football player injured
shoulder after reaching for a fumble.  
While reaching above his head, his arm
was also pulled back behind him.  
This image is axial to the body plane,
long axis to the Subscapularis tendon,
and just lateral to the coracoid process.
The Biceps groove in this image is
located just to the right of the text on
the image.  It is filled with the
surrounding connective tissues, and
part of the transverse humeral ligament.
